We are seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a busy engineering workshop in Taranaki. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of fabrication and maintenance projects within a well-established engineering environment.
This role is ideal for a tradesperson who takes pride in producing high-quality work, works safely and enjoys being part of a skilled workshop team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be involved in the fabrication, repair and assembly of a wide range of steel components and structures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Fabrication and assembly of structural and mechanical components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Cutting, grinding, fitting and preparing materials
- Workshop-based fabrication and repair work
- Maintaining high-quality weld standards and workmanship
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator within an engineering or heavy industrial environment
- Strong experience with MIG, TIG, SMAW and FCAW
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual and safety conscious
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Pipe welding experience will be an advantage
