Based in the Coromandel, this Water Treatment Engineer role is responsible for the operational performance, compliance, and optimisation of water and wastewater treatment facilities across the region.
You'll be involved in:
- Overseeing the operation and maintenance of drinking water and wastewater treatment plants across the district
- Troubleshooting plant performance issues alongside on-site operators and technicians
- Getting into the detail on site and advising from the front, not just reviewing data from a desk.
- Monitoring compliance with resource consent conditions and drinking water standards
- Preparing and submitting accurate compliance reports to the relevant council and regulatory bodies
- Leading investigations into non-compliance events and implementing corrective actions
- Identifying opportunities to optimise plant performance and improve operational processes
- A relevant engineering degree OR NZ Certificate or Diploma in Drinking Water or Wastewater Treatment
- Proven experience managing drinking water treatment plant operations
- Background in a contractor or operations environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to look at plant data and identify what's not running optimally
- Confident guiding and supporting operators through technical problems on the ground
- Solid understanding of SCADA systems and treatment plant equipment
- $80,000 - $95,000 per annum + relocation support
