What you’ll be doing
- Fabrication & welding (MIG/TIG/Stick) across general engineering projects
- Plant maintenance on fibreboard, sawmill and heavy‑industrial machinery
- Breakdowns, repairs, fault‑finding and preventative maintenance
- Workshop builds, structural steel, pipework, brackets, guards, frames
- Occasional site work around local mills and manufacturing plants
- Strong fabrication/welding skills
- Experience as a maintenance fitter or fitter/welder
- Ability to strip, repair, rebuild and maintain production machinery
- Safe, reliable, practical tradesmen who know their way around a workshop
- Solid, long‑term work with a respected Nelson engineering firm
- Variety: workshop fabrication + real hands‑on plant maintenance
