Stellar Recruitment is proud to partner with Glencore Mount Isa Mines to recruit a Supervisor - Isa Surface Fleet within the Isa Surface Operations Department.
Reporting to the Isa Surface Fleet Superintendent, you’ll oversee the people and mobile equipment responsible for bulk materials handling across site. The fleet includes dump trucks, Kress haulers, loaders, graders, watercarts and dozers, supporting the requirements of multiple operating departments.
This is an operations and production leadership role , suited to someone who has progressed from operating heavy mobile equipment into supervising a crew. You’ll balance production priorities, safe equipment movements and team performance, while working closely with maintenance to coordinate equipment availability.
The operating environment includes established infrastructure and confined work areas, so practical equipment knowledge, sound judgement and clear communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a crew of up to 15 setting clear expectations around safety and production.
- Plan and coordinate operators and equipment to meet shift priorities and material movement requirements.
- Oversee bulk materials handling activities, including stockpile movements, wagon loading and slag handling.
- Maintain safe operating standards around mobile equipment, infrastructure and other site users.
- Coordinate equipment servicing and maintenance requirements with workshop supervisors.
- Manage day-to-day personnel matters, crew performance and communication.
- Liaise with other operating departments and contractors to support production and safe road and rail deliveries.
- Complete shift paperwork, reporting and operational data capture.
- Strong hands-on operating experience with haul trucks and loaders.
- Proven experience leading an operational crew, ideally having progressed from an operator background.
- A practical understanding of mobile equipment operations, safe material movements and production requirements.
- Confidence managing people, setting expectations and handling day-to-day personnel issues.
- Computer literacy and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
- Strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to safe production and the ability to adapt to changing operational priorities.
- Residential Mount Isa position, allowing you to return home after each shift.
- A 4-on, 4-off rotating day and night roster.
- Responsibility for an operational crew and a diverse surface fleet.
- A varied role combining production coordination, people leadership and collaboration across site.
