The role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the delivery team on a fixed-term 12-month contract. You will take ownership of your area of the build, running day-to-day site operations and driving quality, programme and safety outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage daily site activities, subcontractors and trades across your work area
- Drive programme delivery - sequencing, short-term look-aheads and coordination with the wider project team
- Lead site health, safety and environmental performance and set the standard on site
- Manage quality assurance, ITPs, inspections and defect close-out
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, consultants and the client's representatives
- Keep accurate site records, diaries and progress reporting
- Proven, significant Site Management experience on commercial construction projects
- A background with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor
- Trade or construction management qualification (or equivalent site-earned experience)
- Strong subcontractor management and programme discipline
- Excellent health and safety leadership
- Confident communication with clients, consultants and site teams
- NZ residency, citizenship or a valid open work visa
- A high-profile, technically interesting project
- A Tier 1 business with structured systems, strong site leadership and real support
