We’re working with a well-established and growing business seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead their busy Auckland workshop.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll oversee daily operations, support a skilled team of Diesel Mechanics, and ensure high standards across servicing and repairs of heavy equipment. You’ll be responsible for driving workshop efficiency, maintaining strong customer relationships, and creating a positive, high-performing team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of skilled diesel technicians
- Oversee day-to-day workshop operations, workflow, and job allocation
- Take a hands-on approach when needed to support the team
- Liaise with customers to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Manage productivity, performance, and workshop efficiency
- Ensure all job documentation and paperwork is completed accurately
- Maintain and enforce high health and safety standards
- Proven leadership experience within heavy diesel, transport, or heavy equipment industries
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to step into the workshop when required
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships
- Highly organised with solid time management skills
- Positive, solutions-focused leadership style
- Competitive salary package $115K–$125K (depending on experience)
