As the Service Manager, you'll take ownership of a busy workshop operation and lead a team of approximately 20 technicians. You'll be responsible for driving productivity, coordinating resources, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Success in this role comes from understanding both the technical and people side of the business. You'll know how to utilise your technicians effectively, manage changing priorities, and keep workflow moving across a variety of jobs and locations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of approximately 20 technicians, fostering a positive and high-performing workshop culture.
  • Maximise technician utilisation by ensuring the right people are assigned to the right jobs based on skill set, experience, and location.
  • Monitor productivity, job progress, and performance metrics to drive operational excellence.
  • Manage workflow across multiple jobs, priorities, and customer requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work closely with customers, technicians, and internal stakeholders to ensure clear communication and exceptional service delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team when required.

About You:
  • Proven experience leading workshop, service, or operational teams within the heavy diesel, transport, automotive, or heavy equipment sectors.
  • Strong technical understanding with the ability to support and guide technicians when required.
  • Skilled at planning resources, allocating workloads, and maximising technician utilisation across multiple jobs and priorities.
  • A natural people leader who knows how to get the best out of a team while maintaining accountability and performance.
  • Highly organised with the ability to juggle competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and with customers.
  • Confident making decisions, solving problems, and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Positive, hands-on leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement and customer service.
