You’ll be responsible for steering projects from early planning stages through to handover, maintaining oversight of scope, cost, schedule, and on‑site activity. This role suits someone who enjoys structure, clarity, and keeping multiple workstreams moving in harmony. You'll take the lead on a diverse portfolio of work, including residential builds, commercial spaces, and multi‑unit developments. You’ll manage projects from early planning through to handover, ensuring smooth delivery, clear communication, and strong performance across teams and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of construction projects, from coordination and scheduling to final completion
- Lead subcontractor management, labour planning, and material procurement
- Monitor budgets, report on progress, and identify potential cost or time variances
- Work closely with design teams, consultants, and clients to address challenges quickly
- Maintain strong project momentum while balancing safety, compliance, and quality
- Conduct routine site visits to ensure workmanship and safety standards are consistently met
- 5+ years’ experience in construction project management
- Solid understanding of NZ building codes, compliance frameworks, and H&S legislation
- Familiarity with local council consent processes (advantageous)
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar (preferred)
- Confident communicator with strong leadership skills
- Strong planning, coordination, and problem‑solving abilities
