Reporting to the Civil Manager, you will ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, to specification and within budget. You will work with FIFO construction teams delivering remote projects which may be all types of road construction and maintenance.
The Opportunity
You will take a hands-on leadership role across engineering, commercial and site delivery, including:
- Leading engineering and technical delivery from planning to completion.
- Preparing and managing programs, look-aheads, methodologies and work packs.
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, labour and equipment.
- Managing budgets, forecasts, variations, progress claims and commercial reporting.
- Preparing and reviewing ITPs, quality records, procedures and specifications.
- Ensuring compliance with drawings, design requirements, Australian Standards and contracts.
- Driving inspections, testing, defect resolution and project close-out.
- Managing project risks, technical issues and productivity opportunities.
- Building trusted relationships with clients, consultants and delivery partners.
- Championing safety, environmental compliance and quality outcomes.
You are a proactive and collaborative engineering professional who brings:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant engineering qualification.
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in civil construction in Australia for contractors.
- Previous experience delivering Main Roads Western Australia road construction projects will be highly regarded.
- Strong capability in construction planning, programming, cost control and reporting.
- Experience leading subcontractors, suppliers and site teams across competing priorities.
- Sound knowledge of quality systems, ITPs, technical specifications and construction documentation.
- Commercial strength across variations, forecasting, claims and cost management.
- Clear communication, leadership, organisation and practical problem-solving skills.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a close-knit team.
- Existing rights to live/work in Australia (*non negotiable)
