About the role:

We are looking for a  Senior Mining Engineer  to join us at our Boggabri mine, an open-cut coal operation producing more than 7 million tonnes per annum, and with a mine life extending through until 2036. Boggabri mine is located near Boggabri, Gunnedah and Narrabri, regional towns which offer community spirit and a unique and diverse country lifestyle.
  
The Senior Mining Engineer provides specialist engineering expertise across short-term mine planning, drill and blast, and operational design activities to support safe and efficient coal mining operations. The role leads a team of Mining Engineers, Drill and Blast Engineers, Graduates and Technical Officers, providing technical direction, coaching and day-to-day leadership while ensuring work is aligned with operational priorities and business objectives.

About you:

You believe in fostering a positive, collaborative work culture - ensuring we always put our people first.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related subject
  • Significant experience in open cut mining engineering, preferably within the coal industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in mine planning, scheduling, drill and blast design and operational support
  • Experience leading and mentoring technical professionals within a mining environment
  • Strong understanding of mining legislation, safety systems and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with a range of mine planning and scheduling software applications like Vulcan, SPRY, Deswik, Gantt Scheduler, Talpac etc
