The Opportunity 

We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Specialist to join a well-established organisation within the energy sector on an initial 6-month contract.

Supporting large-scale infrastructure and project operations, this role will see you managing end-to-end purchasing activities while partnering closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver efficient and compliant procurement outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional looking to contribute to complex and high-impact energy projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end purchasing activities including sourcing, quotation analysis, requisition reviews, and purchase order processing
  • Provide procurement support and guidance to internal stakeholders across purchasing activities
  • Negotiate supplier pricing, delivery terms, and resolve procurement-related issues
  • Track purchasing activities to ensure timely delivery and operational continuity
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and procurement documentation within internal systems
  • Support supplier management activities and monitor supplier performance relating to delivery, quality, and cost
  • Assist with contract administration activities including renewals and variation requests
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and continuous improvement across procurement processes
  • Prepare procurement reporting and assist with purchasing data analysis
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with procurement policies, governance, and company procedures

About You

  • Proven experience in a Purchasing Specialist, Procurement, or Supply Chain role
  • Previous exposure to energy, infrastructure, utilities, engineering, or project environments highly regarded
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  •  High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  •  Experience using ERP or purchasing systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
  •  Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of supplier management and contract administration practices
  • Relevant qualifications in procurement, business, supply chain, or related disciplines are desirable
