The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Officer for our mining client in South Bank. This is an initial fixed-term 6-month contract where you will be involved in managing the centralised purchasing process across multiple projects while ensuring efficient supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the purchase and supply of goods for various mining projects.
  • Manage freight costing and logistics for tendering and export purposes.
  • Maintain product catalogues and ensure accurate coding of orders.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to the purchasing process.
  • Support category management in supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Occasional travel to project sites as required.
About You:
  • Extensive experience in purchasing, ideally within the mining or construction sectors.
  • Proficiency in SAP for supply chain functions
  • Familiarity with cataloguing and inventory control systems.
  • A strong understanding of plant machinery and systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
