We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Officer for our mining client in South Bank. This is an initial fixed-term 6-month contract where you will be involved in managing the centralised purchasing process across multiple projects while ensuring efficient supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the purchase and supply of goods for various mining projects.
- Manage freight costing and logistics for tendering and export purposes.
- Maintain product catalogues and ensure accurate coding of orders.
- Assist in resolving issues related to the purchasing process.
- Support category management in supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Occasional travel to project sites as required.
- Extensive experience in purchasing, ideally within the mining or construction sectors.
- Proficiency in SAP for supply chain functions
- Familiarity with cataloguing and inventory control systems.
- A strong understanding of plant machinery and systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
