The Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of commercial building services projects across the Queenstown region.
You will work closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.
The role will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, building strong relationships and taking ownership of the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from commencement through to completion
- Take ownership of project delivery, programme and commercial outcomes
- Manage client and consultant relationships
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and trades
- Manage procurement and subcontractor packages
- Monitor project budgets, costs and forecasting
- Manage variations, claims and project documentation
- Coordinate project programmes and key milestones
- Lead project meetings and provide regular project reporting
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
- Work closely with the estimating, operations and wider project teams
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
About You
You will ideally have:
- Strong New Zealand construction or building services experience
- Proven Project Management experience
- Experience within mechanical, plumbing, HVAC or another building services environment would be advantageous
- Strong commercial and financial understanding
- Experience managing projects from start to finish
- Strong subcontractor, supplier and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation
- A proactive and practical approach to project delivery
- The confidence to take ownership and make decisions
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team
