About the Company

Our mining client is an international company that operates a large iron ore minesite in Western Australia. They are currently expanding the mine’s key infrastructure including construction of a new tailings storage facility (TSF) and associated pipelines and water infrastructure network, where they need a civil Project Engineer (TSF). 

About the Role

Do you prefer a role where you know you are paid for all hours worked? Are you frustrated in your current role by working overtime on a fixed salary with no extra compensation? This Project Engineer (TSF) position will guarantee that you are paid for all hours worked on a FIFO 8/6 roster, 12 hours/day at $86.70/hr + super, for the next 12 months, guaranteed! This position will suit a tertiary qualified Civil Engineer who has previously worked for civil contractors on the construction of bulk earthworks projects in the mining or industrial sector, and who wants to transition to working client-side for a mine owner. If you are the successful Project Engineer, you will oversee the management and construction of the new tailings dam and be responsible for the QA sign-off in due course. As Project Engineer (TSF) you will provide guidance on technical queries for sub-contractors, monitoring and reporting on progress, and ensuring adherence to HSE and QA requirements at all times. This is a terrific long-term 12 month contract role paying equivalent of $240K + super per annum. All flights, accommodation and meals will be provided.

Skills, Qualifications and Other Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelors of Engineering (Civil)
  • Approximately 4-6 years’ post graduate civil construction experience on large earthworks projects for civil contractors in Australia
  • Experience on mine site civil infrastructure or industrial developments involving large earthworks scopes or water infrastructure earthworks is essential (ie. site preparation, tailings dam construction projects, haul/access roads, embankments, buttresses, dewatering)
  • Previous FIFO experience on minesite civils projects preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead others
  • Clean current C Class WA Driver’s License
  • WA based with existing rights to work in Australia
  • Available within 2 weeks’ notice maximum
