Lead major infrastructure programmes in the heart of Central Otago
Our client is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join their Power and Communication Services team based in Cromwell . This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for overseeing project management, planning, design estimation, scheduling, commercial performance, and operational delivery across a significant portfolio of electrical distribution and infrastructure projects.
About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 11 direct reports while coordinating project management, design, estimating and scheduling functions to ensure efficient delivery of annual work programmes. You'll play a key role in resource planning, commercial management, stakeholder engagement, and project execution, while acting as the 2IC for the Regional Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing high-performing project, planning and scheduling teams
- Managing annual and 12-month rolling work programmes
- Overseeing project delivery, commercial performance and resource utilisation
- Building strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Driving health, safety and risk management excellence
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and operational planning
- Leading project reviews, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client expectations.
To be successful, you will bring:
- 10+ years' experience leading complex infrastructure, construction or engineering projects
- Strong commercial and contractual expertise
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams
- Experience within electrical distribution, utilities, construction or a related industry
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Strong planning, scheduling and resource management capability
- A relevant Engineering, Electrical Trade or Project Management qualification
- Sound knowledge of risk management and project delivery frameworks.
