About the Role
As the Procurement Governance Advisor, you will be responsible for the end-to-end supplier onboarding lifecycle, ensuring suppliers are appropriately assessed, approved, and maintained within company systems. You will work closely with Procurement, Finance, Legal, HSEC, Operations, and supplier communities to ensure governance requirements are met while supporting efficient procurement activities.
You will also contribute to initiatives that support Indigenous and local supplier participation, aligning with broader social value and local procurement objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end supplier onboarding process, including supplier registration, verification, approvals, record maintenance, and deactivation.
- Coordinate supplier due diligence and risk assessments, including financial, ethical, HSEC, AML, bribery, and corruption screening requirements.
- Maintain accurate supplier master data within Coupa and implement ongoing data quality controls and validation processes.
- Monitor supplier governance compliance and ensure supplier records align with company standards and risk requirements.
- Maintain supplier segmentation frameworks and ensure governance and monitoring activities align with supplier risk profiles.
- Develop and maintain supplier governance documentation, including SOPs, process maps, user guides, and process checklists.
- Produce reporting and analytics relating to supplier onboarding performance, due diligence completion, supplier health, data accuracy, and governance KPIs.
- Support supplier engagement initiatives, including Indigenous and local supplier development programs, supplier days, mentoring, and capability-building activities.
- Identify and support process improvement and automation opportunities across supplier governance and onboarding workflows.
- Act as the escalation point for supplier master data and governance-related queries, coordinating resolutions with key stakeholders.
- Support internal and external audits relating to supplier governance, compliance, and master data management.
Key requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Law, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- 2-5+ years' experience in supplier onboarding, supplier governance, procurement operations, supplier management, or a similar discipline within mining, industrial, resources, or complex supply chain environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier due diligence, compliance, and risk assessment processes.
- Experience working with ERP and procurement platforms such as Coupa, SAP, Ariba, or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of supplier master data management, supplier qualification processes, contract management principles, and supplier risk frameworks.
- Experience supporting supplier engagement and development initiatives, with exposure to Indigenous supplier programs highly regarded.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong relationships across multiple functions, sites, and supplier groups.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
