The Opportunity:
We’re partnered with a well-established mining organisation in Queensland, seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to support site-based operations on a FIFO roster. This is a hands-on role managing payroll for their operation and assiting with the management of HRIS data reporting directly into the HR Manager and working closely with the broader site leadership team.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, while also supporting HR systems, reporting, and compliance across the full employee lifecycle. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, a strong salary package, and consistent FIFO conditions within a well-performing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 900 employees
- Ensure accuracy across timesheets, allowances, and site-based pay conditions
- Maintain and manage HRIS data, reporting, and system integrity
- Support onboarding, mobilisation, and employee records management
- Assist with compliance, audits, and payroll-related reporting
- Liaise with site teams and leadership to resolve payroll and system queries
- Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in a high-volume environment
- Strong background working with HRIS systems and large data sets
- Experience within mining, resources, or heavy industry environments
- High attention to detail with strong analytical capability
- Confident working in a site-based, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
- FIFO roster from Brisbane
- $140K base salary plus benefits, bonus, and site-based allowances
