We’re looking for a hands-on Passive Fire Installer to deliver compliant fire protection systems that protect buildings and save lives—done right the first time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install passive fire protection systems including:
    • Fire stopping (penetrations – pipes, cables, ducts, etc.)
    • Fire-rated walls, ceilings, and compartmentation
    • Intumescent coatings and structural protection
  • Seal penetrations to prevent fire and smoke spread and maintain fire ratings
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, and fire engineering details
  • Carry out reinstatement works (linings, insulation, seals, barriers)
  • Complete QA documentation, photo records, and compliance tagging
  • Identify defects/non-compliance and complete remedial works
  • Coordinate with other trades to ensure smooth installs around services
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety on-site

Skills & Experience
  • Background in passive fire, fire stopping, or construction trades , OR strong transferable trade experience including:
    • Glazing / aluminium joinery
    • GIB fixing, stopping, or interior finishing trades
    • Carpentry or drylining
    • Electrical Trade Assistants (ETA) or service-based install roles
  • Ability to read plans and follow technical specs
  • Strong attention to detail (small penetrations = big compliance risk)
  • Confident using hand and power tools
  • Physically fit and comfortable working on active construction sites
  • Able to work independently or as part of a crew
  Qualifications (Preferred)
  • NZ Certificate in Fire Protection Systems (Level 3 or 4) OR relevant trade background 
  • Site Safe
  • Full driver’s licence
