We’re looking for a hands-on Passive Fire Installer to deliver compliant fire protection systems that protect buildings and save lives—done right the first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Install passive fire protection systems including:
- Fire stopping (penetrations – pipes, cables, ducts, etc.)
- Fire-rated walls, ceilings, and compartmentation
- Intumescent coatings and structural protection
- Seal penetrations to prevent fire and smoke spread and maintain fire ratings
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and fire engineering details
- Carry out reinstatement works (linings, insulation, seals, barriers)
- Complete QA documentation, photo records, and compliance tagging
- Identify defects/non-compliance and complete remedial works
- Coordinate with other trades to ensure smooth installs around services
- Maintain high standards of health & safety on-site
Skills & Experience
- Background in passive fire, fire stopping, or construction trades
, OR strong transferable trade experience including:
- Glazing / aluminium joinery
- GIB fixing, stopping, or interior finishing trades
- Carpentry or drylining
- Electrical Trade Assistants (ETA) or service-based install roles
- Ability to read plans and follow technical specs
- Strong attention to detail (small penetrations = big compliance risk)
- Confident using hand and power tools
- Physically fit and comfortable working on active construction sites
- Able to work independently or as part of a crew
- NZ Certificate in Fire Protection Systems (Level 3 or 4) OR relevant trade background
- Site Safe
- Full driver’s licence
