Operations & Enablement Lead
Reporting to: GM - New Zealand | Managing Director (ANZ)
Location: New Zealand
Role Type: Permanent, Full‑time
Role Purpose
The Operations & Enablement Lead is responsible for ensuring The Company operates smoothly, compliantly, and efficiently as it scales . This role owns core operational functions across finance, people, compliance, and systems, with a strong focus on process standardisation, cost discipline, and automation .
The role exists to remove friction from the business, protect margins, and enable growth without unnecessary increases in headcount.
Key Responsibilities 1. Finance, Payroll & Cost Control
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, budgeting, and cashflow tracking.
  • Coordinate payroll processing in line with NZ employment and tax requirements.
  • Manage GST, supplier contracts, invoicing, and delegated spending authorities.
  • Monitor cost structures and support leadership with financial visibility and discipline.
2. People Operations & Enablement
  • Coordinate onboarding, employee records, and leave management.
  • Maintain HR systems and ensure accurate, up‑to‑date documentation.
  • Support performance review cycles and core people processes.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures and eliminate ad‑hoc or informal workarounds.
3. Governance, Health & Safety, and Compliance
  • Provide executive and board administration support, including minutes and statutory filings.
  • Maintain health and safety systems, hazard registers, and incident reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with NZ employment, health & safety, and data protection obligations.
  • Coordinate with external advisors (accountants, legal, IT) as required.
4. Systems, Office & Operations
  • Own office operations, facilities, asset registers, and vendor relationships.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 and coordinate with IT support providers.
  • Identify manual or inefficient processes and implement automation or system improvements.
  • Ensure operational documentation is current, accessible, and consistently followed.

  • Operations run calmly and predictably, even during periods of growth.
  • High compliance standards are maintained with no overdue actions or audits.
  • Core processes are standardised, documented, and followed consistently.
  • Leadership time is protected through strong operational support and structure.
  • Growth is achieved without unnecessary increases in operational headcount.
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Experience in an Office Manager, Operations Lead, or similar role within an SME or scaling business.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Experience using Xero or similar accounting software.
  • Working knowledge of payroll and HR systems.
  • Understanding of NZ employment law, tax, and health & safety requirements.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting multi‑country or remote teams.
  • Exposure to automation, process improvement, or systems implementation.

  • Proactive in identifying and eliminating inefficiencies.
