Open Pit Mine Geologist

We are seeking an experienced Open Pit Mine Geologist to join a gold mining operation in the Meekatharra region of Western Australia. Working within a collaborative and supportive geology team, you will play a key role in delivering quality geological outcomes, supporting production activities, and maximising ore recovery across the operation.
This position will commence on a contract basis with a strong opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

- Daily and monthly production/geological data validation and reporting
- Geological and geotechnical mapping
- Designing and supervising drill programs
- Designing and marking up ore blocks
- Logging of RC and diamond drilling
- Collaborating with engineers to develop efficient mine plans with a focus on ore recovery
- Collaborating with operators and supervisors to implement mine plans
- Monthly and period-to-date (PTD) block model reconciliation
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline
- 2-5 years' experience as a Mine Geologist
- Open pit mining experience essential
- Gold mining experience essential
- Strong understanding of grade control and production geology
- Experience with mining software including Surpac, Leapfrog or similar
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Valid C Class Driver's Licence
- Full Australian working rights
