The Opportunity:
Big Yellow is looking for experienced mining operators and operators from relevant industries such as forestry, civil, heavy-road transport and agriculture to step into a FIFO role to Perth, Western Australia. There are permanent, labour hire (casual), and temp-to-perm opportunities available, with relocation to Australia available for the right candidates.
Big Yellow is looking for experienced mining operators and operators from relevant industries such as forestry, civil, heavy-road transport and agriculture to step into a FIFO role to Perth, Western Australia. There are permanent, labour hire (casual), and temp-to-perm opportunities available, with relocation to Australia available for the right candidates.
This is a chance to work 12-hour shifts on a 2/1 FIFO roster from New Zealand to Perth (point of hire), across various sites in WA. Hourly rates are based on experience and positions, ranging from $60/h-$72/h (AUD) with the ability to salary sacrifice flights from NZ to Perth. Big Yellow prides themselves on promoting and developing from within, so those coming from industries outside of mining will have the opportunity for training and upskilling.

Exposure to the below or similar gear will be highly regarded:
- PC1250 / PC2000 Excavators – or similar 100-350 tonne diggers
- CAT D9 / D10 Dozers & CAT 16M Graders
- CAT 777 & 785 / Komatsu 785 & HD1500 Dump Trucks
Related experience on brands such as John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Massey Ferguson, Tigercat, Ponsse, Waratah, Volvo, Kobelco, Scania, and Kenworth are welcomed!
Requirements:
- HD Mechanics: Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Level 4) – or similar is highly regarded
- Full New Zealand Driver Licence (Class 1)
- New Zealand passport
- Ability to obtain an Australian National Police Check
- Ability to pass a drug & alcohol test, medical, and mask-fit test
