We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer/Service Technician to join our client based in Rakaia, however this role will include travel around the whole Canterbury region. You will be responsible for working on a range of agricultural machinery (including large silos, rollers, mixers and tanks). Please note that this role is a field-based role and therefore will include travel around the wider Canterbury region therefore it will involve some independent work, as well as working alongside the wider team (both on-site and in the workshop). Health and Safety will play a huge part in this role and it will be your responsibility to ensure that all work is carried out safely and to a high standard. Some of the machinery you will be working with is highly technical and therefore we are looking for somebody mechanically-minded to join the team.
The hours of work re 08:00AM – 05:00PM Monday to Friday (you will also be a part of the on-call roster for urgent repairs once you are trained up). Please note that this role will include travel around the wider Canterbury region, therefore you must be a confident driver. Your duties will include:
- Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, and fault finding
- General servicing and providing technician support to customers
- Undertaking welding and fabrication work where required
- Ensuring a high standard of quality and Health and Safety standards
- Completing documentation accurately
- Providing excellent customer service and building relationships with customers
- You will form part o the on-call roster and this will include responding to urgent breakdowns when required
- You must have experience in machinery maintenance and be mechanically skilled
- Must be Health and Safety focused
- Welding and fabrication experience will be highly beneficial
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Food production experience will be beneficial
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and have no criminal convictions
- Possess a full clean class 1 drivers license (class 2 is advantageous) and be a confident driver
- Able to pass random drug tests throughout your employment
- Possess a keen and positive attitude and can easily adapt and learn new systems
- Thorough with good attention to detail
- Physically able
