Our client is looking for motivated operators to join their timber processing team in Harewood, Christchurch. These are important production roles that offer the chance to build a long-term career within a well-established industry.
The Debarker Operator is responsible for operating machinery that removes bark from incoming logs at the beginning of the production process.
The Log Loader Operator uses heavy machinery to sort, stack, and load logs throughout the yard.
Both positions are based outdoors and suited to people who enjoy equipment operation, working as part of a team, and learning new skills.
Duties Include:
Debarker Operator
- Operate debarking machinery safely and efficiently
- Monitor production flow and log quality
- Assist with positioning logs when required
- Identify and report machinery or production issues
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Operate log loader machinery
- Sort, stack, and load logs safely
- Move product throughout the yard as required
- Conduct routine equipment checks
- Support efficient production operations
- Monday to Friday: 6:00am – 2:30pm
- Current overtime available Monday to Wednesday until 3:45pm
- Outdoor working environment
- Full-time hours
- Experience operating machinery or heavy equipment
- Forklift, tractor, excavator, loader, forestry, agricultural, or similar machinery experience preferred
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Reliable and safety focused
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good communication and team skills
- Able to pass pre-employment drug testing
- Valid NZ work rights
- Starting rate of $26.50 per hour
- Weekly pay
