About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Machine Operator to join our team based in Takanini, Auckland. This is a full-time, permanent position working with specialised machinery used in paper processing and finishing.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating key production equipment and supporting the efficient flow of work along the machine line. While based in a warehouse environment, the role is primarily hands-on machine operation, with some supporting duties to keep production running smoothly.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8 hours per day within this window)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating slitter machines, guillotines, and other paper‑processing equipment
- Setting up machinery correctly prior to production runs
- Carrying out basic machine checks, cleaning, and quality inspections
- Completing production runs to meet daily output requirements
- Wrapping, stacking, and preparing finished product for dispatch
- Assisting with forklift or reach truck operation when required (if licensed)
- Conducting quality checks to ensure accuracy and presentation standards
- Safely lifting up to 20kg for machine loading and unloading
- Previous experience operating industrial or production machinery
- Ability to follow operating procedures and adhere to safety guidelines
- Physically capable of regular lifting up to 20kg
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Reach Truck experience and/or current licence
- Background in factory, manufacturing, or processing environments
- Mechanically minded with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn
