An opportunity has arisen for an intermediate Family Lawyer to join a respected Auckland practice. You will work across a broad range of family matters with steady mentoring and strong client exposure. This role suits someone with 3+ years of PQE; however, applicants with slightly less experience are also welcome to apply.
The Role
You will step into an established family team that supports individuals navigating a wide range of personal and relationship issues. The position offers meaningful file ownership, guidance from experienced practitioners and regular court‑related work where appropriate. You will contribute to a busy practice with a varied client base and high‑quality matters.
Key Work
• Relationship property matters including contracting out agreements
• Care of children, guardianship and other parenting issues
• Family violence applications
• Dissolution and separation advice
• General family law and broader private client issues
Day to Day Responsibilities
• Managing your own files with appropriate supervision
• Drafting affidavits, agreements, correspondence and settlement documents
• Negotiating outcomes with other counsel and practitioners
• Supporting clients through court processes and attending appearances where required
• Collaborating with colleagues across related practice areas
About You
• 3+ years of family law experience, or strong foundational experience if slightly under
• NZ admitted solicitor with a current practising certificate
• Confident drafting, communication and client care skills
• Comfortable taking ownership of matters and progressing files
• Ability to work calmly, professionally and collaboratively
