The Situation

I’m currently working with multiple clients across mining, construction, energy and heavy industry who are planning for experienced Human Resources professionals to support site-based and regional operations throughout 2026.

These opportunities range from site-based to residential and town-based roles, including locations such as Mackay and other regional hubs. Many are long-term positions supporting large operational workforces and leadership teams, with flexibility around roster structures and location depending on the operation.

This Expression of Interest is suited to HR professionals who are quietly considering their next move and want early visibility of upcoming and off-market opportunities as they arise.

About the Roles

Opportunities will vary depending on experience, background and location preference, and may include:
  • Human Resources Superintendent
  • Human Resources Manager
  • Senior HR Advisor or HR Advisor
  • HR Business Partner (site or regional)
  • HR Coordinator or Site HR roles
These positions work closely with site and project leadership teams, including Superintendents and Project Managers, and play a hands-on role in supporting operational workforces and people initiatives.

Common features across these opportunities may include:
  • Site-based, residential or town-based working arrangements
  • Options to improve roster structures or transition to a new location
  • Permanent and contract positions
  • Long-term roles supporting established operations and major projects
  • Exposure to large, operational and project-based workforces
Skills & Experience Required  
  • Proven HR experience within mining, construction, energy or heavy industry environments
  • Experience supporting site-based or operational workforces
  • Strong capability across employee relations in operational settings
  • Ability to partner closely with site leadership and operational teams
  • High level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality
  • Flexibility around site, residential or regional-based work
  • Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical or willing to obtain
