An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced HR professional to join a mining operation in a hands-on, site-based role.
Working a 9-day fortnight, with camp accommodation and meals provided, you'll support the day-to-day HR function, covering recruitment, performance management, employee relations and HR administration.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to broaden their HR experience within the mining industry. While previous mining experience would be beneficial, our client is open to candidates from other sectors who bring strong generalist HR experience, a proactive approach and the ability to build effective working relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising, candidate screening, interview coordination, onboarding and associated documentation.
- Support performance management processes, including coordinating performance reviews, maintaining records and assisting leaders with performance-related matters.
- Prepare, maintain and manage HR documentation, employee records and general HR administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate the Graduate and Apprenticeship programs, supporting recruitment, development and ongoing program administration.
- Provide timely and practical HR support to leaders across employee relations, industrial relations and general people management matters.
- Work closely with the Senior HR Coordinator and HR Manager to support day-to-day HR operations, process improvements and broader people initiatives.
About You:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a generalist HR role, with exposure to recruitment, performance management and HR administration.
- A sound understanding of relevant state and federal employment legislation, HR policies and workplace processes.
- Experience within mining or a similar operational environment is desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with HR systems such as Workday or SAP would be advantageous.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage confidential information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build relationships and support leaders at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
