Our client is a well-established organisation operating within the industrial and infrastructure sector, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across Australia. With a commitment to safety, innovation, and continuous improvement, they are seeking an experienced HR Coordinator to join their Mackay team on a 12-month maternity leave contract.
  
About the Role
Reporting directly to the HR Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of Human Resources services across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training coordination, compliance, and HR administration.
This is a true generalist HR position where no two days are the same. You will work closely with leaders and employees across the business, ensuring HR processes are delivered efficiently while contributing to a positive employee experience.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising, interview scheduling, and candidate communication
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and probation processes
  • Prepare employment documentation, HR correspondence, and reports
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Assist with employee relations and performance management administration
  • Coordinate training requirements, licences, inductions, and compliance records
  • Monitor training and compliance expiries to ensure workforce requirements are met
  • Liaise with payroll regarding employee movements, leave, and employment changes
  • Support employee wellbeing, engagement, and diversity initiatives
  • Assist with workers compensation and return-to-work administration
  • Support HR projects, policy reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, or similar Human Resources role
  • Strong understanding of HR administration and employee lifecycle processes
  • Knowledge of Fair Work legislation, Awards, and employment regulations
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of a business
  • Experience within industrial environments will be highly regarded
