The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced HR Advisor to join a globally established mining organisation supporting a large operational workforce in Central Queensland.

Reporting to the HR Superintendent, you will act as a trusted HR partner to site leaders, providing end-to-end generalist HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle. This is a true HR Advisor position where you will play a key role in employee relations, performance management, recruitment, workforce planning and partnering with leaders to deliver practical people solutions in a fast-paced operational environment.

Operating on a FIFO roster from Brisbane (5/2 – 4/3), this position offers a balanced 9-day fortnight, modern camp accommodation and the opportunity to join a high-performing HR team within a global organisation.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide trusted HR advice and coaching to leaders across a large operational workforce
  • Partner with managers on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters and workplace investigations
  • Support end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activities
  • Coordinate workforce accommodation, mobilisation and site logistics
  • Assist with payroll processes and HR administration where required
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation, employee records and reporting
  • Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures and relevant employment legislation
  • Manage workforce reporting and data through Employment Hero and internal HR systems
  • Contribute to HR projects, workforce initiatives and continuous improvement programs
About you

You are an experienced HR Advisor who enjoys building strong relationships with operational leaders and providing practical, commercial HR solutions within a fast-paced site environment.

You will bring:
  • Previous experience as an HR Advisor or in a generalist HR position with strong advisory responsibilities
  • Experience managing employee relations, performance management and workplace investigations
  • Exposure to recruitment, onboarding and workforce administration
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
  • Experience using HRIS platforms, ideally Employment Hero or similar
  • Mining, resources or heavy industry experience will be highly regarded but is not essential
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills
