We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a busy Christchurch workshop supporting a large and diverse fleet of heavy equipment.
This role offers plenty of variety, working on earthmoving machinery, trucks, trailers, and other supporting equipment. You'll be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, completing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment remains reliable and operational.
The position is suited to a trade-qualified mechanic who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants to be part of a supportive team environment with long-term career security.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy diesel equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Complete workshop repairs and breakdown maintenance as required
- Conduct inspections and identify maintenance requirements
- Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance and operations teams

About you
- Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent experience
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy diesel equipment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Committed to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills
