We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a Hamilton-based workshop. This is a permanent, full-time role working with trucks and trailers in a modern, well-equipped environment. You’ll be part of a supportive, close‑knit team within a well-established New Zealand operation known for stability, quality workmanship, and long-term career opportunities. This role offers consistent hours (approximately 45 hours per week), Monday to Friday, with overtime available from time to time.
Key responsibilities:
- Diagnose, service, and repair a range of heavy diesel trucks and trailers
- Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance
- Complete major mechanical repairs and engine overhauls as required
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards
- Maintain clear and accurate job records and documentation
- Competitive pay $40–$45 per hour, dependent on experience

About you:
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Level 4 Heavy Automotive qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Full, clean driver’s license
- Safety-focused with pride in quality workmanship
- Team player with good communication skills
