About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Finance and Commercial is a key leadership role responsible for driving financial performance, commercial insight and strategic decision-making across the organisation. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, treasury, financial modelling and commercial analysis while partnering closely with operational and executive leaders to support business performance, capital investment and long-term growth.
You will also lead the organisation's finance systems strategy, including ERP ownership, reporting capability and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with the CFO and executive leadership team, you will help strengthen financial capability, improve decision-making and drive operational performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the group's budgeting, forecasting, treasury and financial planning processes, ensuring robust financial frameworks support strategic and operational objectives.
- Partner with executive and operational leaders to deliver commercial analysis, financial modelling and performance insights across operations, capital projects and strategic initiatives.
- Drive finance systems, ERP ownership and reporting capability, leading digital transformation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain strong governance, financial controls and reporting frameworks, ensuring compliance with audit, risk and corporate reporting requirements.
- Lead and develop the finance team while providing trusted commercial advice and financial leadership to the CFO, CEO and executive team.
You are a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys partnering with operations and influencing business outcomes through practical financial insight. Equally comfortable operating strategically and hands-on, you bring strong commercial judgement together with the technical capability to support executive decision-making.
To be successful, you will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification with extensive senior finance leadership experience, ideally within mining, resources, energy or another complex, asset-intensive industry.
- Strong expertise across budgeting, forecasting, treasury, financial modelling, business case development and commercial decision support.
- Proven experience partnering with executive and operational stakeholders, with the ability to influence decisions and translate financial information into commercial outcomes.
- Strong finance systems capability, including ERP ownership or transformation experience, supported by advanced reporting and business intelligence skills.
- An engaging leadership style with a track record of developing high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement.
