This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety in their work and has experience across manual machining, fabrication, fitting, maintenance, and general engineering tasks. No two days are the same, making this a great opportunity for someone with a broad engineering skillset.
The Role You will be involved in a wide range of workshop-based engineering work, including machining, repairing, manufacturing, maintenance, and custom fabrication projects for local industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating manual lathes and milling machines
- Manufacturing and repairing engineering components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- General fitting and assembly work
- Welding and fabrication duties where required
- Maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
- Using measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and quality
- Contributing to a safe and productive workshop environment
- Previous experience as a machinist, fitter, turner, or general engineer
- Competent operating manual lathes and milling machines
- Able to work from engineering drawings
- Welding and fabrication experience advantageous
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Pride in producing quality workmanship
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
