Our client is a well-established Australian steel manufacturing business producing high-quality building products used across the construction industry. Due to continued demand, they are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join their team in a hands-on, varied role.
This position will suit someone who enjoys a mix of machine operation and ground-based duties, working in a fast-paced yard environment with oversized and unconventional freight.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to move steel products including pipes, beams and other oversized materials
- Safely handle non-standard, awkward and heavy loads
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring correct handling and load security
- Assist with strapping and securing loads for transport
- General yard duties including housekeeping and maintaining a clean worksite
- Provide basic customer interaction when required on-site
- Current LF Forklift Licence (essential)
- Proven experience handling non-standard or oversized loads (steel, timber, piping or similar)
- Confident operating in a busy yard or manufacturing environment
- Willing to perform both forklift and manual/ground duties
- Strong awareness of workplace safety and best practices
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
