Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant machinery, including:
- crushers
- conveyors
- screens
- pumps
- mills
- gearboxes and drive systems
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
- Conduct inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements.
- Install, align, and commission new fixed plant equipment.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Use precision tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and torque wrenches.
- Complete maintenance records and update CMMS systems accurately.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve plant reliability.
- Follow all site safety procedures, including isolation, permits, and risk assessments.
Skills & Experience Required
- Trade qualification as a Fitter , Mechanical Fitter , or equivalent (internationally recognised).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working on fixed plant equipment in mining, quarrying, or heavy industry.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Experience in high‑risk or heavy industrial environments is highly regarded.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow technical instructions. Additional Requirements for International Applicants
