About the Role
You’ll work across a wide range of machining and mechanical maintenance tasks, including:
- Operating manual lathes, mills, borers, and drill presses
- Precision turning, boring, thread cutting, and producing components to specification
- Stripping, inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding hydraulic cylinders
- Light fabrication and MIG welding (TIG experience an advantage)
- Mechanical maintenance on plant and machinery such as pumps, gearboxes, conveyors
- Setting up new equipment and interpreting workshop drawings
- Maintaining strong Health & Safety and quality standards
- Trade qualification in mechanical engineering (Fitter/Turner, Machinist, Welder, Mechanic)
- 5+ years hands‑on mechanical maintenance experience
- Strong machining skills and confidence using workshop equipment
- Welding and fabrication experience; ASME 9 exposure a bonus
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- A reliable team player with strong communication and high personal standards
- Class 1 licence required; additional licences/endorsements an advantage
