We are excited to be working with a rapidly growing New Zealand-based business who operate across property, construction, financial services, renewable energy and technology sectors to recruit a contract Finance Manager position.
 This is an opportunity to own the hands‑on financial operations of a trans‑Tasman, multi‑entity business by managing franchise financials, group cash and treasury, finance operations and team leadership, and all tax and statutory compliance, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial management for a multi‑entity, trans‑Tasman business.
  • Manage franchise financials, including billing, collections, and ongoing financial support.
  • Lead group cash and treasury operations, including payments and liquidity management.
  • Own day‑to‑day finance operations and ensure accurate.
  • Lead and support an onshore and offshore finance team.
  • Maintain accurate financial systems and data across all entities.
  • Ensure timely month‑end close and operational financial controls.
  • Manage tax and statutory compliance obligations across the group.
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and ways of working.
   
About You
Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent)
  • 4+ years post-qualification experience in finance operations or accounting
  • Strong hands-on technical capability with a deep understanding of NZ IFRS RDR
  • Proven experience using Xero across multiple entities
  • Experience with payments, batch processing, and daily cash management
  • Experience leading or supervising a small finance team
  • Highly organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
Desirable Experience
  • Franchise or multi-entity group environments
  • Property or construction sector experience
  • Australian GST/BAS or cross-border financial exposure
  • ASB batch payment systems
