Job Description
We're working with a well-established, locally owned civil contractor delivering a range of projects across Northland, including roading, earthworks, drainage, subdivisions and general civil construction.
With a strong pipeline of work ahead, they're looking for an experienced Civil Excavator Operator to join their team.
This is an opportunity for someone who knows their way around a digger, takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a hardworking crew. We're looking for someone who can operate confidently, think ahead on site and isn't afraid to jump out of the machine and lend a hand when required.
What you'll be doing
- Operating excavators and other civil machinery across a variety of projects
- Bulk and detailed earthworks, excavation and site preparation
- Supporting roading, drainage and general civil construction activities
- Working around services, trenches and existing infrastructure
- Assisting the crew on the ground when required
- Maintaining safe, tidy and productive worksites
What we're looking for
- Proven excavator operating experience within civil construction
- Confident operating across varied terrain and site conditions
- Experience in earthworks, roading, drainage or infrastructure projects
- Ability to work accurately around levels, services and tight spaces
- Strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in
- Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Someone who takes ownership of their work and doesn't need constant supervision
Required tickets and licences
- Full Class 1 driver's licence
- WTR endorsements
- ConstructSafe or Site Safe certification
- Proven experience operating excavators in a civil environment
