About the Role
Stellar Recruitment is working with established electrical businesses in Hawke's Bay who are looking for motivated Electrical Trade Assistants to join their teams.
These opportunities offer something a little different from the standard ETA role. Depending on the project, you could be assisting with commercial and industrial electrical installations on-site, or working in a workshop assembling electrical equipment and enclosures under the guidance of Registered Electricians.
This variety provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to different areas of the electrical industry while developing practical skills and building your experience.
Key Responsibilities
Site-Based Projects:
- Cable pulling and cable installation
- Installing cable trays and containment systems
- Assisting with commercial electrical fit-outs
- Supporting electricians with day-to-day site activities
- Operating hand and power tools safely
- Maintaining site safety and housekeeping standards
- Mechanical assembly of switchboards and electrical equipment
- Building and assembling electrical enclosures
- Preparing components for installation
- Reading assembly drawings and work instructions
- Quality checking completed work
- Working alongside and learning from Registered Electricians
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
- Experience in an electrical, construction, manufacturing, or trade environment
- Electrical Trade Assistant experience preferred
- A New Zealand Limited Electrical Licence is advantageous
- Confidence using hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good health and safety awareness
- Reliable transport and a positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Valid Site Safe
- Own PPE
- Valid Working Rights in NZ (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Resident visa)
