The Company
Our client is a well-established and highly regarded heavy industries organisation with a diversified portfolio of assets and a strong pipeline for future growth. Known for its collaborative culture and long-tenured workforce, the business offers a stable and supportive environment where finance plays a key role in commercial decision-making.
Due to increased reporting and operational requirements, they are seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant to join their Brisbane CBD head office on an initial fixed term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a complex, multi-entity operational business while working alongside an experienced and supportive finance team.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role within the corporate finance function, delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting compliance across multiple entities within the group.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver month-end financial reporting, including performance reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and group consolidations.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, capital project reporting and lease accounting.
- Assist with quarterly, statutory and Board reporting, including external audit and financial statement preparation.
- Support taxation activities including FBT, income tax and transfer pricing.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide timely, accurate and commercially focused financial information.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencies.
About You:
To be successful, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualification or be actively working towards completion.
- 4-6+ years' experience in financial or management accounting, ideally within mining, resources, manufacturing or another asset-intensive industry.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to build relationships across finance and operational teams.
