What You'll Be Doing
  • Complete concrete grinding and polishing projects independently from start to finish.
  • Assess concrete floors and determine the most appropriate grinding or polishing process.
  • Operate planetary grinders, edge grinders and industrial HEPA dust extraction equipment.
  • Grind, hone and mechanically polish concrete floors to a high standard.
  • Remove coatings including epoxy, paint, glue and floor coverings.
  • Repair cracks, holes and other surface defects.
  • Apply densifiers, grouts, stains and protective sealers.
  • Deliver consistent finishes that meet client specifications.
  • Safely set up, operate and pack down equipment.
  • Maintain machinery and complete routine servicing and basic repairs.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, site managers and the wider team.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe worksite.
Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you'll have:
  • Proven experience in concrete grinding and polishing.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Surface preparation
    • Grinding and honing
    • Mechanical polishing
    • Exposed aggregate finishes
    • Glue and coating removal
    • Crack repairs
    • Concrete sealing systems
  • Experience operating Lavina or similar planetary grinding equipment.
  • Experience using industrial HEPA dust extraction systems.
  • The ability to assess floor conditions and select the correct diamond tooling.
  • A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to safely handle heavy equipment.
  • A current full New Zealand driver's license.
