About the Role
You’ll be programming and operating 3–4 axis CNC milling machines, producing high‑accuracy tooling, and supporting ongoing improvement projects. The role includes a mix of CNC work, conventional machining, and occasional input into CAD/design tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- CNC programming & operation – Fusion 360 or similar
- Reading engineering drawings and machining to tight tolerances
- Using precision measuring tools
- Operating mills, lathes, grinders, and general toolroom equipment
- Tooling repairs, maintenance, and improvement work
- Following all Health & Safety requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in toolmaking or machining
- Trade qualification (Level 4) ideal but not essential
- Exposure to SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability
- Reliable, proactive, and quality‑focused
- Stable, long‑standing NZ engineering business
- Supportive team and varied, interesting work
