This is an exciting time to step into a key Civil Estimator position with a rising star WA civil contractor delivering road construction and maintenance projects for mining, local government and Main Roads WA clients. Based at their office south of the river in Perth, you will take ownership of pricing civil works, preparing competitive tender submissions and working closely with the Civil Division Manager to identify, assess and pursue targeted RFQ and tender opportunities. You will manage submissions from first review through to final lodgement, using Microsoft Excel and Benchmark to build accurate, commercially sound pricing across both lower-value works and larger, more complex projects. You’ll also have the chance to get out of the office once or twice a month to attend site visits and client meetings, so you must be open to the odd night away as required.
You will bring:
- 6+ years of experience as Civil Estimator preparing “first principles” estimates for civil contractors
- Strong road construction or civil project experience, with the ability to price works of varying size, complexity and value
- Sound knowledge of Main Roads WA specifications and tender requirements
- Proven ability to complete detailed quantity take-offs, construction sequencing and contract reviews
- Confidence managing and delivering tender submissions from initial review through to final lodgement
- Commercial discipline, attention to detail and confidence identifying bid risks and opportunities
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and suppliers
- Strong competence with Microsoft Excel, and proven Benchmark estimating experience will be highly regarded
