About the Role 

Join a high-performing finance team as an Assistant Accountant. Reporting to senior leadership, you will support the day-to-day financial operations while developing your technical skills in a collaborative and supportive environment. 
Monday - Friday Standard Business Hours with flexible start times. 

Key Responsibilities 
  • Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Performing bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting month-end and year-end processes
  • Assisting in financial reporting and analysis
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant financial records
  • Ensuring adherence to internal controls and NZ regulatory standards
  • Preparing and posting journals, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Act as back up for Payroll when required

About You 
  • Degree in Accounting (or related discipline)
  • 3+ years’ experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Understanding of accounting principles and processes
  • Experience supporting finance functions across multiple entities or business units (desirable) 
  • Experience using accounting systems (e.g. Xero, MYOB)
  • Intermediate Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Fixed asset register experience (Desirable) 
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
