As a Yard Hand / Forklift Operator, you’ll be responsible for the safe movement, loading and unloading of steel products in a busy yard environment. You’ll work with a supportive team to ensure freight is handled efficiently and accurately, including long and irregular loads such as steel lengths, pipes or timber.
Your experience and confidence operating forklifts in tight or challenging spaces will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to move, stack and manage heavy steel products
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Handle long, oversized or irregular freight with precision
- Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free yard
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Current forklift licence with solid operating experience
- Proven track record handling long or awkward loads
- Experience within steel, timber or pipe industries highly regarded
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
- Reliable, punctual and committed to team success
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
