As a Yard Hand / Forklift Operator, you’ll play a key role in the safe and efficient handling of steel products of varying sizes and shapes. You’ll be confident managing awkward or non-standard freight and experienced with long loads such as timber, pipes, or steel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move and manage heavy steel products
- Safely load and unload trucks
- Handle long or irregular freight with care and precision
- Maintain a tidy and organised yard
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Current forklift licence and proven experience
- Strong track record handling awkward or oversized loads
- Background in steel, timber, or pipe industries highly regarded
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Long sleeve hi-vis shirt
- Long work pants
- Steel cap lace-up boots
