Yard Hand / Forklift Operator – Steel Products

We’re partnering with a leading steel manufacturer to find a skilled and safety-focused Yard Hand / Forklift Operator. This is a hands-on role that offers full-time hours, overtime, and the possibility of permanent employment down the track.
About the Role:
In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely loading and unloading steel products of varying sizes and shapes. You'll need to be confident working with awkward, non-standard freight. Experience with long loads such as timber, pipes, or steel is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move steel and other heavy materials
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Manage awkward and non-standard freight with care
- Keep the yard tidy, safe, and organised
- Follow all site and safety procedures
- Valid forklift licence and proven forklift experience
- Strong track record handling large or awkward loads
- Previous experience with steel, timber, or long pipes highly regarded
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Long sleeve hi-vis shirt
- Long work pants
- Steel cap lace-up boots
- $38 per hour + penalties
- Monday to Friday, 6:00am–4:00pm
- Ongoing work with full-time hours
- Overtime and occasional weekend work
- Opportunity for permanent employment
