As we scale our digital presence and evolve “Tisch Academy” into a next-generation online learning and community platform, we’re seeking a Tech Lead to help architect and build the systems that will support thousands of artists across the globe.

The Role
You’ll be our first dedicated Tech Lead, owning architecture decisions, driving quality, and helping shape the engineering culture of our growing team. You’ll work closely with Andrew and a cross-functional team of creatives, content producers, designers, and community managers to turn ideas into scalable digital experiences.

This is a hands-on leadership role that blends technical excellence, product thinking, and mentorship.

Responsibilities System Design & Architecture

• Architect scalable, maintainable systems using Domain-Driven Design (DDD), modeling concepts like Courses, Lessons, Subscriptions, and Membership Tiers.
• Design cloud-native infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) using IaC tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Optimize systems for high availability and performance to support streaming media and high-concurrency learning tools.

• Lead development using .NET 8 (C#), EF Core, and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Oversee the front-end built with React/Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Turborepo.
• Ensure integration of authentication and authorization systems (OAuth2, JWT).

• Own and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Support containerized deployments using Docker and managed Kubernetes services (AKS/EKS).
• Implement monitoring and observability with Prometheus, Grafana, App Insights, and structured logging (e.g., Seq, ELK).

• Foster a test-first culture with TDD, unit testing, and integration testing frameworks.
• Enforce code quality through systematic reviews and documentation standards.

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years as a Tech Lead or Architect.
• Deep experience with .NET ecosystems, modern JavaScript frameworks, and cloud-native architecture.
• Strong systems thinker with proven experience scaling platforms with streaming media or high concurrency.
