We are seeking an experienced Switchboard Designer / Draftsperson to join our growing operations team. This role is primarily focused on switchboard design, project coordination, and documentation, ensuring designs meet Australian Standards and client requirements from concept through to delivery.
This position works closely with internal teams, suppliers, and clients and plays a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard. While hands‑on knowledge of switchboards is essential, this is not a workshop trades role.

- Managing switchboard designs from initial concept through to final delivery
- Preparing accurate drawings, layouts, and documentation using AutoCAD
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve design and technical queries
- Quantifying and ordering materials to support project delivery
- Supporting quality assurance and ensuring designs meet company and client standards
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement and standardisation of switchboard designs
- Providing clear design documentation to ensure workshop teams fully understand requirements
- Intermediate to advanced AutoCAD skills
- Proven experience in switchboard design
- Strong knowledge of the switchboards and electrical industry
- Project planning and coordination experience
- Trade qualification (minimum Electrical Fitter) obtained through an RTO
- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Current CPR certification
- Comprehensive understanding of AS3000 and electrical safety legislation
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a quality‑focused mindset
- Electrical Fitter or Electrical Mechanic licence
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Current manual driver’s licence
