Rex Minerals is an Australian mining company dedicated to the development of its flagship A$1.0B Copper-Gold Hillside Project located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The project will be a significant contributor to the South Australian economy and will provide employment opportunities for locals and for those looking to move to the area.
Hillside is in a fantastic location 150km from Adelaide and is one of the largest undeveloped copper / gold projects in Australia. Stage 1 of the project is fully approved and early-stage site access work, awarding of contracts and building the team to execute the project has commenced.
About the role:
The Metallurgy Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and optimising metallurgical processes throughout the development and operational phases of the mineral processing plant. Initially, this role will focus on supporting the design, commissioning, and ramp-up activities, ensuring that metallurgical processes are integrated efficiently into plant operations.
As the plant transitions into the operational phase, the Metallurgy Superintendent will lead continuous improvement initiatives, optimise recovery rates, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain plant metallurgical performance at the highest standards.
We are seeking a candidate who is keen to be a part of the Yorke Peninsula community and who can be site based (where the action is) more often than not.
Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Process or Chemical Engineering
- 10+ years relevant experience in a base-metal mineral processing operation.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in leadership role.
- Expertise in comminution, flotation and other metallurgical processes.
- Experience in operational readiness and commissioning in mineral processing projects highly regarded.
- Experience with process simulation software and metallurgical laboratory techniques.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with other departments
- Permanent position with a growing mining company on a greenfield project that is fully permitted and is supported by the local community.
